is a premium quality vintage preamp tube considered a true "holy grail" in the world of vacuum tubes. The JG designation covers the highly reliable series of GE (General Electric) manufactured for military purposes (Joint Army-Navy, or JAN), which was produced in the 1950s for the US Army.

Technical characteristics and construction3-mica (Triple mica): Inside the tube, three pieces of mica (mica) plates fix the internal elements instead of the usual two. This extra reinforcement reduces microphony (unwanted noise caused by physical vibrations) to a great extent
Black Plate (Black anode plate): A trademark of the early, '50s series. Among hi-fi enthusiasts, the black anode tubes are considered to have the warmest and most musical sound compared to the later gray plate versions.
