ECF80 Tungsram
While the ECF80 tubes from many other manufacturers are often perceived as sounding raw or overly sharp, the Tungsram version is highly acclaimed for its warm, detailed, and dynamic sound. In audiophile circles, they are frequently used in:
• Driver stages of tube amplifiers.
• Phase-inverter circuits.
• Preamplifiers (such as phono or line-level stages).
Audio Note is one of the most influential and legendary brands in the high-end audiophile world, following a philosophy radically different from that of most modern audio manufacturers. The company is renowned for its almost obsessive commitment to tube technology in the pursuit of perfect sound.
Audio Note frequently employs ECF80/6BL8 tubes in some of its iconic amplifiers.
Audio Note engineers (particularly Andy Grove) make brilliant use of the advantages offered by combined triode-pentode tubes. The most famous examples featuring the ECF80/6BL8 tube include:
• Audio Note amplifiers (e.g., P2, P2 SE, Vindicator): In these push-pull or single-ended amplifiers, the ECF80/6BL8 tube handles input signal amplification and drives the output tubes.
• Audio Note OTO (Phono / Line): One of the company’s most popular integrated amplifiers, equipped with EL84 output tubes. In certain versions and phono stages of the OTO, the 6BL8 (ECF80) plays a crucial role as a driver tube.
While Audio Note units come equipped with excellent tubes from the factory, "tube rolling"—swapping tubes to fine-tune the sound—is extremely popular among owners. The Tungsram ECF80 is one of the best and most sought-after NOS (New Old Stock) upgrade options for these amplifiers, as it delivers a smoother, more musical, and more textured midrange compared to modern Russian or Chinese-made tubes.

I thought that a lot of like-minded people rarely have the opportunity to visit these shops, on the one hand the lack of time and because there are very few of these shops. The Internet is now available everywhere in the postal courier companies to deliver it to all the goods.
